Big Leaderboard Shakeup Averted as McAdams_Fan Wins Week 13 in Monday Night Pool

For 59 minutes on Monday night, it looked like the 2017 Monday Night Ticket Score (MNTS) leaderboard would get a major shakeup and a new highest single-week score might be posted. But the Pittsburgh Steelers kicked a last second, game-winning field goal to beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 and keep things, well, 'normal'.

McAdams_Fan wins Week 13 with a 23-19 prediction by virtue of the earlier submission tiebreaker over fostereli, whose 23-21 prediction came in 11 hours later. He wins the $5 Mega credit and takes the early Q4 lead. His 45.9 points is the 8th highest weekly winning score of the season, so it won't be enough to earn him an automatic berth among the 10 fans who will play for $10,000 during the Super Bowl.

84% of fans picked the Steelers to win, so the maximum 5x multiplier would have applied to the score prediction points of any fan who picked the Bengals to win. The Bengals did everything BUT win. They took the lead early and held it until late, but along the way they also set a franchise record for penalty yards and that eventually doomed them.

It also doomed the fans with the most probable Bengals picks such as schoochnew, luisgav88 and midnight4twenty, whose 20-16, 20-17 and 23-20 upset picks had the potental to reap 150-ish points. That approximate total would have easily been the highest scoring week of the season, and that would have guaranteed the winner a $10,000 berth, a dominant Q4 lead, and potentially, overall pool leadership or at least a spot in the top five.

This is McAdams_Fan first career weekly win in 40 tries. It puts his career top 35% finish rate at 40%, which is 16th best among fans who've played at least 40 times.

Overall Standings
Daddy Rick still sits atop the leaderboard, but his lead shrunk to just 7.8 points over new 2nd place fan alec0324. And watch out below, because Chrishill_8 has risen from 12th to 3rd over the past couple of weeks.

Mega Pool Impact
Wow! Kenny Powers has relinquished the lead in the 2017 Mega Pool to cathil, who had another good week (18th, vs. Kenny Powers' 32nd). But cathil's lead is only 3.9 points.

How Does it Compare to Other Games?
Based on combined median (4.0) and average (4.8) prediction differentials, this was the fourth easiest game of the 2017 pool and the 13th easiest all-time.

Fans' average score predictions were Pittsburgh 27.0, Cincinnati 19.1 for a gap of 7.9 points, considerably higher than the game's 4.5 point spread. That's there was high pool value in picking the upset.
